I like to read the Bible. As the English Standard Version (ESV) bible has gained widespread popularity over the last 10 years or so, I've decided to take it upon myself to demonstrate how it's... well... not that great... Cards on the table: I'm a New International Version (NIV) fan. I think it's great. Anyhow, periodically I'll pull examples of funny/weird ESV translations from this article. Here's today's:
